John Bogomil – is an anointed one, prophet, mystic, writer, musician, author of more than 650 books and musical performances.
He was born in 1946 into an intelligent family.
His childhood spent in the summer in Ukraine with his closest relatives was imprented with bright memories. He graduated from the Maurice Thorez Institute of Foreign Languages (1970).
Since the age of 13, he has been actively writing poetry. At the age of 17, the editors of the magazine “Youth” and the newspaper “Komsomolskaya Pravda” offered him to be published. He refused, he felt his calling was something different.
The year is 1980. He travels in a commuter train and has his first revelation: “You have read more than 10 thousand books, and have you learned the truth?” A spiritual crisis set in. He left his past behind and went to look for a mentor of truth.
The path in Orthodoxy began with the instructions of a secret nun, guided from above, Mother Maria of Oryol, who was a healer, and talked with the Mother of God herself.
In search of the elder he wandered a lot until he met the great white eldress Mother Euphrosinia of Pochaiv (1917-1993), a disciple of the elder Amfilohy. In a short time, he received from the eldress the seals of the Holy Spirit, the fullness of the bogomil teaching about the transfiguration and the revelation of the divine potential in man. He was inflamed with the desire to serve spiritually and help people. On one impulse he wrote a whole series of 12 books on the elder’s asceticism and the practice of spirit-acquisition under the general title ‘Penitential Fire’.
In 1984, in the Dormition Cathedral in Smolensk, the Mother of God spoke to him from the icon of the Hodegetria. (‘Go and reveal my love to the world,’ She said.) The Word of Revelation is still being given.
In 1985 he was ordained a priest of the True Orthodox (catacomb) Church. The sacrament of consecration was performed by Schema-Metropolitan Gennady Sekach, Bishops Theodosius and Gregory.

Five years later, in 1990, Metropolitan Ioann Bodnarchuk, the head of the UAOC, ordained John Bogomil as a bishop, transferring to him the succession of the Orthodox branch of St. Andrew the First-Called and the elders of Solovki.
Father John is the author of many books about the martyrdom and feat of millions of people of different nations and religions in Stalin’s Gulag camps.
It was through Father John that the mystery of the atoning sacrifice of righteous people of the twentieth century was revealed to the world: the Gulag, the Holodomor, Chornobyl – as the Second Golgotha of Christ in the person of thousands and millions of little christs and god-bearers. By the will of heaven, he was destined to become the chronicler of the Second Golgotha of Solovki.
With the second conversion, to which the Mother of God has been tirelessly calling humanity throughout the world for many years, Father John accepted initiation from above into the archetypal, authentic spirituality of Christ and the Mother of God – Catharism and Bogomilism, spirituality cleansed of millennial layers of formalism. This is the Christianity of pure love of the Father and Mother, nothing else.
This love, whose name is Minne, was taught by the ancient Slavic Bogomils (pre-Volodymyr Christianity of St. Andrew’s branch), the Western European Cathars, and the Ukrainian non-possessors in catacombs.
One of the most important initiatives of John Bogomil was the creation of a worldwide youth movement that would convert young people to God and give them the ideal of living in purity and holiness.
Ukraine occupies a prominent place in the life of John Bogomil. John Bogomil keenly feels the Ukrainian primordial foundations and proto-culture, the conciliar soul of the people. Ukrainians are not only the direct heirs of the Trypillian culture, Scythians, Aryans and Cimmerians. The Ukrainian tradition goes back to prehistoric times and even further to the archetypal Hyperborea.
‘In the summer, I was in Ukraine. – says Father John about his childhood. I didn’t know Russia at all… but I traveled all over Ukraine.
I understand why the Mother of God sent the Apostle Andrew to Kyiv… This is a special land, a special melody and musicality of its language. Its archetypicity and spirituality fascinated me.’

In recognition of his outstanding achievements in the revival of spirituality, interfaith unity and international peacekeeping, John Bogomil was elected a special consultant of the International Association of Enlightenment Workers for World Peace at the UN and earned an honorary award of this organization. In 1998, the International Catalogue ‘Who’s Who Among Intellectuals’ published an article about John Bogomil. At this time, he was awarded the Albert Einstein Award.
